Journal 20

Colossians 3 verse 12 says: Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Humility is right in the mix of that.

If you don't have patience and gentleness, how are you going to have humility?

Ephesians 4 verse 2: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Pride often looks down on people.

Humility is the opposite of pride

Proverbs 11 verse 2 says: When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

With humility we find the answers.

How many times in the world do we see that gift tarnished or altered?

Then we're really no better than the world is.

Lord use me.

Lord send me.

Do you know the Bible talks about hard work?

There's an art and there's a season to be still.

So many times we think God's on it, all I have to do is show up.

Proverbs 21 verse 25: The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work.

We are not going to miss the blessings, no matter what I do.

I'll tell you what, you can miss out on blessings.

Of course we go life, hoping we make the right ones.

Sometimes it takes a little bit of hard work on our behalf.

Don't just talk the talk.

It takes a lot of work to also walk the walk.

Give yourself some grace.

If you've fallen short, learn from it.

You have to learn, and seek some wise counsel.

It shows God, I want better this, I want to be a better human being.

We are all going to fall short.

Faith runs a whole lot deeper.

Philippians 4 verse 7: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Don't be so closed off, that you won't open your heart up to anyone.

Let God be the strength of your heart.

God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Galatians 6 verse 9: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Psalm 73 verse 26: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

We should never treat people's hearts as our twisted entertainment. Don't do it.

Go to them first. Go to the source.

Psalm 51 verse 10: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Let us not rejoice in gossip.

To love one another.

To edify Christ in one another.

We are either building one another up or we are tearing one another down, we are either building a bridge or we are burning a bridge.

Leading with heart, leading with love.

We are a new creation in Him.

Set apart for a purpose.

If you don't what your purpose is, I encourage you to find it.

Write a version, write it on the tablet of your heart. Write the vision and make it plain.

Once you have that vision, you have something to start from. You have something to keep you focused.

Behold I am doing a new thing.

Sometimes we want to hold onto that baggage.

Leave that heavy baggage.

This is like Linus, and a security blanket.

My yolk is light.

If God is doing a new thing are we receptive to it or are we stuck in our fears?

It will cause us to miss the blessings.

I don't want any of us to miss out.

We have to be moved by His Love, plain and simple.

Tell somebody you love them, how much you care about them.

God is Love.

1 Corinthians 13 verse 13: And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

We leave with heart through His Love.

We are supposed to be kind, we still have a responsibility to love one another well.

Jeremiah 29 verse 11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Run your race well.

Invest in theirs.

That's true discipleship.

He wants discipleship, He wants community.

Moving in one accord, moving in Love.
