What Ephesians 2 verse 1-13 Means To Me

When I think of this verse it reminds me of some song lyrics.

The first one being by Mac Powell from Third Day with His song called By His Wounds.

The lyrics I want to share from that song say this:

He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our sins, The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him And by His wounds By His wounds, we are healed

He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our sins, The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him And by His wounds, By His wounds, we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice And the life that You gave

We are healed for You paid the price, By Your grace, we are saved, We are saved, He was pierced for our transgressions And crushed for our sins, The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, And by His wounds, By His wounds, we are healed

The second song is by Aaron Shust with My Savior, My God where it says this:

I am not skilled to understand, What God has willed, what God has planned, I only know at His right hand, Stands One who is my Savior, I take Him at His word and deed

Christ died to save me, this I read, And in my heart I find a need Of Him to be my Savior

The Next two songs are by Casting Crowns called Who Am I and East To West where these songs say this:

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name? Would care to feel my hurt?

Who am I, that the bright and morning star would choose to light the way, For my ever wandering heart?

Not because of who I am, But because of what you've done, Not because of what I've done, But because of who you are, I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow, A wave tossed in the ocean (ocean) A vapor in the wind, Still you hear me when I'm calling, Lord, you catch me when I'm falling And you've told me who I am

I am yours, I am yours, Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin would look on me with love And watch me rise again, Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain And calm the storm in me?

Here I am, Lord, and I'm drowning in your sea of forgetfulness, The chains of yesterday surround me

I yearn for peace and rest, I don't want to end up where You found me And it echoes in my mind, keeps me awake tonight, I know You've cast my sin as far as the east is from the west And I stand before You now as though I've never sinned, But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west, 'Cause I can't bear to see the man I've been come rising up in me again, In the arms of Your mercy I find rest

'Cause You know just how far the east is from the west, From one scarred hand to the other

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty, Let all the Earth rejoice, All the Earth rejoice, He wraps himself in light And darkness tries to hide And trembles at His voice

Trembles at His voice, How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see, How great, how great is our God, Age to age He stands And time is in His hands, Beginning and the end, Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One, Father Spirit Son, The Lion and the Lamb, The Lion and the Lamb, How great is our God, sing with me, How great is our God, and all will see, How great, how great is our God

To me all of this means that we have come so that we could have life and not perish because our God can do all things possible and nothing is impossible for Him because He can also do the impossible in us and help us in our life.
