Journal 9

Isaiah 43 verses 18 and 19 says: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

So God is always wanting to do a new thing in us.

God is always doing something new within us.

Do we try to hold on with security blankets and clutch them ever so tight?

The word says: He comes so that you may have life and have it more abundantly.

He wants us to have everything good thing.

Part of that is being Intune with Him.

Are you able to move or are you a bit stuck?

It takes me meeting Him where He is and wants to take me and wants to take you.

1 Peter 2 verse 10 says: Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

So many people want to dwell on their past.

There's nothing you can do to separate yourself from the love of Christ.

It is not about how many times you give up, it's about how many times you get back up.

God doesn't care about how many times you fall down, the only time He is going to care is if you just flat out give up. He doesn't want you to give up, He wants you to keep running your race, He wants you to keep fighting the good fight of faith, He wants you to keep preserving.

God is in the midst of it all.

Adversity doesn't necessarily develop character, it reveals it.

It also reveals who we are, it reveals who we're not.

You have a couple choices, you can continue to let your failures define you or you can overcome through victory through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

God can't do a new thing in you if you hang onto the failures.

Are we living in the present?

God wants us to keep looking forward.

Use Me.

Psalm 34 verses 4 and 5 says: I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

So many times people deal with fear because they deal with shame.

God wants to remove that from you. He wants you to realize that you're precious in His sight.

He wants you to realize that you're so much more than your failures.

He wants you to realize that you're worthy of so much more.

But do you believe it? Or is your fear worth more than your faith? Is your fear worth more than what God wants to bless you with?

2 Timothy 1 verse 7 says: For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Love breaks the open bondage, you know what He doesn't say there, Fear breaks the open bondage.

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear.

Fear shouldn't be apart of the equation.

If you have love, you don't have fear.

Are you in a fearful situation?

What drives your fear?

Because for some people fear is a massive cripple.

Hebrews 10 verses 35-36 says: So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Without love, none of that stuff is going to matter.

Confidence says I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

Confidence in Him brings humility.

Because you know gets the credit at the end of the day.

But the humility says we're not self seeking. We're in it for the bigger picture. We're in it to serve.

It doesn't mean we should be people pleasing. It doesn't mean we should stay in fearful situations because we're people pleasing.

Don't throw away your confidence.

Jeremiah 29 verse 11 says: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You seek me and you shall find. Why are we stuck in our fear, why are we stuck in our failure?

If you're leaning on that your going to be focused on the here and now and where your going. Your not going to cave into your fears and failures of the past.

Step outside of your comfort zone. Get God out of the box, and allow Him to do the new thing He's trying to do in you.

What are you going to do? I challenge you, if you want to be the new creation that He has called you to be step into the new.

Step into the new.
